Component Testing

Static Test

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S78 Turn Signal/Multifunction Switch.
  2. Test for 8.5-9.1 kΩ between the signal terminal 12 and the low reference circuit terminal 6.
    • If not within the specified range, replace the S78 Turn Signal/Multifunction Switch.
  3. Test for 550-650 Ω between the signal terminal 12 and the low reference circuit terminal 6 while pressing the Up switch.
    • If not within the specified value, replace the S78 Turn Signal/Multifunction Switch.
  4. Test for 1.5-1.7 kΩ between the signal terminal 12 and the low reference circuit terminal 6 while pressing the Down switch.
    • If not within the specified value, replace the S78 Turn Signal/Multifunction Switch.
  5. Test for 3.3-3.7 kΩ between the signal terminal 12 and the low reference circuit terminal 6 while pressing the Reset switch.
    • If not within the specified value, replace the S78 Turn Signal/Multifunction Switch.
  6. Test for less than 5 Ω between the signal terminal 5 and the low reference circuit terminal 6 while pressing the Menu switch.
    • If greater than the specified value, replace the S78 Turn Signal/Multifunction Switch.
