Camshaft Position Sensor Exciter Ring Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement Service and Repair.

Caution:
Do not use an impact driver to remove or install the oil pump driven gear nut. Use of an impact driver may shear the oil pump drive gear pin in the crankshaft.

2. Remove the oil pump driven gear. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement Service and Repair.





3. Remove the camshaft reluctor screws (1).

4. Remove the camshaft reluctor (2) from the camshaft gear.

Installation Procedure





1. Position the camshaft reluctor (2) to the camshaft gear (3).

Caution:
Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.

2. Install the camshaft reluctor bolts (1) and tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb in).

3. Install the oil pump drive gears and reluctor to the crankshaft. Refer to Oil Pump Replacement Service and Repair.

4. Install the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement Service and Repair.
