Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify that DTC P0697 is not set.
  2. Determine the current vehicle testing altitude. Compare the MAP Sensor parameter to the reading in the Altitude Versus Barometric Pressure table. The manifold absolute pressure sensor pressure parameter should be within the specified range indicated in the table.
  3. Ignition ON, engine OFF, observe the scan tool BARO parameter, and MAP Sensor parameter. Compare the parameters to the Altitude Versus Barometric Pressure table. The parameters should be within the specified range indicated in the table.
  4. Start the engine and observe the scan tool MAP Sensor parameter. The MAP sensor pressure parameter should change while starting the engine.
  5. Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the freeze frame/failure records data.
