Diagnostic Aids

The following conditions can also set the DTC:
- A short to voltage on the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve control circuit can cause this DTC to set.
- Inspect the engine for any recent engine mechanical repairs. An incorrectly installed camshaft, camshaft actuator, camshaft position sensor, crankshaft position sensor, or timing belt can cause this DTC to set.
- A cam actuator that is in the full advance or retard position can cause this DTC to set.
- Crankshaft end play out of the range can cause this DTC to set.
- A crankshaft reluctor wheel that has moved in relationship to top dead center (TDC) can cause this DTC to set.
