- Ignition ON, command the appropriate Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve ON and OFF with a scan tool. You should hear the solenoid click when commanded ON and OFF.
- Engine idling, observe the following scan tool control circuit status parameters:
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status
- Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status
- Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Control Circuit High Voltage Test Status
- Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Open Test Status
- Exhaust Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve Control Circuit Low Voltage Test Status
Each parameter should display OK or Not Run.
- Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the freeze frame/failure records data.
NOTE:
The engine speed may need to be increased for the status parameters to change.
