Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Ignition OFF, all vehicles systems OFF. It may take up to 2 min for all vehicle systems to power down. Disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
- If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- Ignition ON, test for 2-3 V between the control circuit terminal 2 and ground.
- If less than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to ground, or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- If greater than the specified range, test the control circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- Command the Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve ON and OFF with a scan tool. The DMM should transition from 2-3 V when commanded OFF to greater than 10 V when commanded ON.
- If the circuit voltage does not correspond to the specified values, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- If all circuits/connections test normal, test or replace the Q6 Camshaft Position Actuator Solenoid Valve.
