Circuit/System Testing

- Ignition OFF, disconnect the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor at the transmission.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the low reference circuit at the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor terminal A and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 V between the 5 V circuit at the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor terminal C and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the 5 V circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- If greater than the specified value, test the 5 V circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector X1 at the K20 Engine Control Module
- Ignition ON, test for less than 0.3 V between the signal circuit terminal B at the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor and ground.
- If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Test for infinite resistance between the signal circuit terminal B at the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor and ground and also between the K20 Engine Control Module X1 terminal 56 and ground.
- If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for a short to ground.
- Test for less than 5 Ω between the signal circuit at the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor terminal B and the K20 Engine Control Module X1 terminal A56.
- If greater than the specified value, test the signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits tests normal, replace the B115 Vehicle Speed Sensor.
- Operate the vehicle within the conditions for running and setting the DTC, verify the DTC does not reset.
- If the DTC resets, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
