Oil Pan Installation

Clean the sealing surfaces.
Apply approximately a 3.5 mm (0.138 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant to the joints (arrows). Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

NOTE:

The assembly time, including torque check, must take no longer than 10 minutes.

Apply approximately a 3.5 mm (0.138 in) thick bead of oil pan sealant (1) to the oil pan. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers for the recommended sealant.

CAUTION:

Install the 15 oil pan bolts (1) on the cylinder block and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
