Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Pontiac G5 and 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Fig 1: Underhood Electrical Center

  3. Remove the cover (2) from the underhood electrical center.
  4. Remove the underhood positive battery terminal lug (4).
  5. NOTE: Take note of the positioning of the positive battery cables before disconnecting the cables.
  6. Disconnect the positive battery cables (5) from the underhood electrical center.
  7. Reposition the body harness from the electrical center top cover.
  8. NOTE: The underhood electrical center bolts (3) are retained in the electrical center.
  9. Loosen all of the underhood electrical center bolts (3).
  10. Remove the underhood electrical center (1) from the vehicle.

  12. Remove the engine control module. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement for the 2.0L engine or Engine Control Module Replacement for the 2.2L or 2.4L engine.
  13. Disconnect the electrical harness from the junction block bracket.
  14. Remove the bracket lower bolts (2).
  15. Remove the junction block bracket support nut (1).
  16. Remove the junction block bracket (3).
