Exhaust Manifold Installation

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  1. Install new exhaust manifold studs and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  2. Fig 2: Block Heater

  3. Install the block heater, if equipped. Tighten the block heater bolt to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the exhaust manifold gasket (2).
  6. Install the exhaust manifold (1) to the cylinder head.
  7. NOTE: Install the Torx® nut (3) in the correct location.
  8. Install NEW exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts finger tight.

    NOTE: Use an inverted Torx® socket E16 to tighten the Torx® nut.
  10. Tighten the NEW exhaust manifold to cylinder head retaining nuts in sequence.
    1. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts to 14 N.m (10 lb ft) .
    2. Tighten the exhaust manifold nuts a second time to 14 N.m (10 lb ft) .

  12. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield.
  13. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
