Camshaft Cover Installation

  1. Install NEW camshaft cover grommets and camshaft cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommets.
  2. Assemble the camshaft cover and gasket. Ensure that the gasket is located in the retaining groove in the camshaft cover.
  3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  4. Install the cover on the cylinder head and hand start the bolts.

  6. Install the front lift bracket.
  7. Install the front lift bracket bolts and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the rear lift bracket.
  10. Install the rear lift bracket bolts and tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  12. Install the ignition coils (4) and tighten the bolts (3) to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  13. Tighten the camshaft cover bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  14. NOTE: The solenoid valves are marked intake and exhaust.
  15. Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valves (2).
  16. Install the camshaft position actuator solenoid valve bolts (1) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
