Installation Procedure

  1. Install new sealing washers on the condenser tube and evaporator hose fittings. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement .
  2. Install the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the TXV.
    3. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the TXV nut and tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  4. Install the front condenser tube to the rear condenser tube (1) and tighten the nut to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  5. Install the condenser tube to the front of dash (2) and tighten the nut to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

  6. Install the condenser tube to the frame rail bracket (1).
  7. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  8. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  9. Install a new seal washer to the condenser tube. Refer to Air Conditioning System Seal Replacement .
  10. Install the condenser tube and bolt to the condenser and tighten the bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  13. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A  . See Special Tools .
