Reaction Carrier Pinion Clearance Check

    NOTE: Replace the carrier assembly if the pinion gear clearance is out of specification. The pinion gears are permanently assembled to the carrier and are not serviced individually.
  1. Measure the reaction carrier pinion gear end play for proper clearance. Use a feeler gauge. The clearance is 0.24-0.69 mm (0.01-0.027 in).
  2. Clean and dry each of the components.
