Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Pontiac G5 and 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the X100 automatic transmission inline 20-way connector at the transmission.
- Install the J 44152 on the harness side of the AT inline 20-way connector. See Special Tools .
- Ignition ON, engine OFF, observe the scan tool TFP Sw. Sig. B/ Sig. C parameter. The reading should display HI/HI.
- If not the specified value, test the appropriate signal circuit for a short to ground. If the circuits test normal, replace the TCM.
- Install a 3 A fused jumper wire between the TFP B signal circuit terminal R and ground and TFP C signal circuit terminal P and ground. Verify the scan tool TFP Sw. Sig. B/ Sig. C parameters change from HI to LOW.
- If not the specified value, test the appropriate signal circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuits test normal, replace the TCM.
- Test the internal transmission wiring harness assembly TFP B signal circuit and TFP C signal circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance condition.
- If the circuits test normal, replace the TFP switch assembly.
- If a circuit is shorted or has an open/high resistance condition, replace the internal wiring harness.
IMPORTANT:
Additional DTCs may set when disconnecting the automatic transmission inline 20-way connector.
