Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Pontiac G5 and 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
    IMPORTANT: Additional DTCs may set when disconnecting the automatic transmission inline 20-way connector.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the AT inline 20-way connector and install the J 44152  on the transmission side. See Special Tools .
  2. Measure the resistance between the ISS high signal circuit terminal S and the ISS Low signal circuit terminal V. The resistance should be between 625-835 ohms.
    • If not within the specified range test the internal transmission harness / ISS.
  3. Install the J 44152  on the harness side. See Special Tools .
  4. Disconnect the TCM connector.
  5. Test for less than 10 ohms between terminal S of the J 44152  and terminal 3 of the TCM connector. See Special Tools .
    • If greater than the specified value, check the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  6. Test for less than 10 ohms between terminal V of the J 44152  and terminal 26 of the TCM connector. See Special Tools .
    • If greater than the specified value, check the circuit for an open/high resistance.
  7. Test for infinite resistance between the J 44152  terminal S and ground, and between terminal V and ground. See Special Tools .
    • If not the specified value, check each circuit for a short to ground.
  8. If all circuits test normal replace the TCM.
