Circuit/System Verification

    NOTE: If a crankshaft or camshaft position sensor DTC is set, the Camshaft Position Actuator output control will not function.
  1. Ignition ON, observe the DTC information with a scan tool. Verify DTC P0335, P0336, P0340, and P0341 is not set.
  2. Engine idling, command the Camshaft Position Actuator to 10° while observing the following control circuit status parameters with a scan tool:
    • Exh or Int CMP Sol Ckt Open Test Status
    • Exh or Int CMP Sol Ckt Short Gnd Test Status
    • Exh or Int CMP Sol Ckt Short Volts Test Status

      Each parameter should display OK or Not Run

  3. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC to verify the DTC does not reset. You may also operate the vehicle within the conditions that you observed from the Freeze Frame/Failure Records data.
