Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the brake shoes. Refer to Brake Shoe Replacement .
  2. Remove the wheel cylinder. Refer to Rear Brake Cylinder Replacement .

  4. Release the rear park brake cable end fitting (1) from the drum brake backing plate.
  5. Remove the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Disc Brake) or Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement (Drum Brake) .
  6. Remove the rear brake backing plate from the rear axle assembly.
