Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Pontiac G5 and 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Clean and dry the vehicle speed sensor.
  2. Fig 1: Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) & Retaining Stud

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Install the vehicle speed sensor and the retaining bolt.

    Tighten:  Tighten the stud to 12 N.m (97 lb in).

  4. Install the electrical connector at the sensor.
  5. Remove the safety stands.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Connect the negative battery cable.

    Tighten:  Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
