Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 Pontiac G5 and 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

  1. Install the transmission mount to the mid-rail.
  2. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  3. Hand start the transmission mount to mid-rail bolts and tighten to 34 N.m (25 lb ft).

  5. Using a hydraulic jack, raise the transmission until it contacts the transmission mount.

    NOTE: The transmission mount to transmission bolts must be hand started. Do not pry the transmission or mount to align the holes.
  7. Hand start the transmission mount to transmission bolts using the following sequence:
    1. Rear Bolt
    2. Middle Bolt
    3. Front Bolt
  8. Using the previous sequence, tighten the transmission mount bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
  9. Reposition the under hood electrical center.
  10. Connect the wiring harness retainer to the tray bracket.

  12. Install the electrical center nuts (1) and bolts.
    • Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
    • Tighten the bolt to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  14. Connect the surge tank inlet hose to the surge tank.

  16. Install the positive battery cables (1) to the under hood electrical center.

    Tighten the positive cable nut to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  17. Connect the engine control module harness connectors (3, 4).
  18. Install the under hood electrical center cover.
  19. Raise the vehicle.

  21. Hand tighten the front transmission mount thru bolt.
  22. Hand tighten the rear transmission mount thru bolt.
  23. Tighten the front transmission mount thru bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).

  25. Tighten the rear transmission mount thru bolt to 100 N.m (74 lb ft).
  26. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
