Installation Procedure

  1. Insert the cable through the driver floor opening.

  3. Install the grommet flush with the floor opening.
  4. Install the driver side front carpet.

  6. Connect the shift cable to the shift control assembly.
  7. Install the console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement .

  9. Connect the shift cable to the park/neutral position switch.
  10. Connect the shift cable to the transmission cable bracket.
  11. Raise the vehicle.

    CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  13. Install the shift cable retaining nut near the exhaust heat shield.

    Tighten:  Tighten the nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  14. Lower the vehicle.
  15. Check the operation of the shift control cable for proper adjustment through all the gear ranges. If necessary refer to Shift Control Cable Adjustment .
