Transmission Fluid Level and Condition Check

- Remove the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Remove the level check plug.
- Verify that the fluid is up to the opening.
- If no fluid is visible, add fluid until the level check opening begins to leak fluid. Refer to Lubrication Specifications for fluid recommendations.
- Install the fluid level check plug.
Tighten: Tighten the fluid level check plug to 38 N.m (28 lb ft).
- Install the left front wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
NOTE:
Inspect the fluid level only when the engine is off. Ensure the vehicle is level. The transaxle must be cold.
