Circuit/System Verification

  1. Verify no DTC is set.
    • If any DTC is set, diagnose this first.
  2. Ignition ON, perform the Instrument Cluster Gauge Sweep test with the scan tool, verify that all gauges sweep from their low to high position.
    • If any gauge does not sweep, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.
  3. Drive the vehicle, verify the gauge values matches the values on the scan tool.
    • If the values do not match, replace the P16 Instrument Cluster.
  4. Verify the fuel level sensor arm is able to move through the entire range and does not stuck at any pipe or wire.
  5. If all gauges do sweep and display the correct value, and the odometer display counts up, replace the K20 Engine Control Module.
