Driver Window Switch

Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S79D window switch-driver.
Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below with the switch in the open position:
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 3
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 3
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 5
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 6
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 7
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 8
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the S79D window switch-driver.
- If infinite resistance
Test for less than 3 Ω between the terminals listed below with the switch in the Up position.
- Driver window - ground terminal 1 and control terminal 5
- Passenger window - ground terminal 1 and control terminal 8
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the S79D window switch-driver.
- If less than 3 Ω
Test for less than 3 Ω between the terminals listed below with the switch in the Down position:
- Driver window - ground terminal 1 and control terminal 3
- Passenger window - ground terminal 1 and control terminal 7
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the S79D window switch-driver.
- If less than 3 Ω
All OK

Passenger Window Switch

Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S79P window switch-passenger.
Test for infinite resistance between the terminals listed below with the switch in the open position:
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 6
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 7
- Ground terminal 1 and control terminal 8
- If less than infinite resistance
  Replace the S79P window switch-passenger.
- If infinite resistance
Test for less than 3 Ω between the ground terminal 1 and the control terminal 8 with the switch in the Up position.
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the S79P window switch-passenger.
- If less than 3 Ω
Test for less than 3 Ω between the ground terminal 1 and the control terminal 7 with the switch in the Down position.
- If 3 Ω or greater
  Replace the S79P window switch-passenger.
- If less than 3 Ω
All OK
