Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement

Preliminary Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
3. Remove the rear brake rotor. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement .
4. Remove the rear speed sensor, if equipped. Refer to Rear Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement .

Procedure

1. Remove the bolt and replace with NEW only.
2. Apply thread locker the rear wheel hub bolts. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .

Tighten: 

1. First Pass: 50 N.m (37 lb ft).
2. Final Pass: additional 40 degrees.
