Preliminary Procedures

Remove the headlamps. Refer to Headlamp Replacement (Cadillac Escalade) , Headlamp Replacement (Tahoe, Avalanche) , Headlamp Replacement (Chevrolet Tahoe Two-mode Hybrid) , Headlamp Replacement (Escalade PLATINUM) , Headlamp Replacement (Non HID) , Headlamp Replacement (Yukon) , Headlamp Replacement (GMC Yukon Two-mode Hybrid) .
Remove the grille support. Refer to Radiator Grille Reinforcement Support Replacement .
Remove the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Primary Latch Release Cable Handle Replacement .

Hood Latch Release Cable Nut

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten
9 N.m (80 lb in)

Hood Latch Release Cable

Release the cable from the latch assembly and pull through the dash panel.
Attach mechanics wire to existing cable to ease installation of the new cable.
