Coolant Crossover Pipe Cleaning and Inspection

- Clean the coolant crossover pipe with solvent.
- Dry the coolant crossover pipe with compressed air.
- Inspect the front of the coolant crossover pipe for the following:
- Damage to the coolant fill adapter sealing surface (1)
- Damage or restrictions to the radiator hose connection (2)
- Damage or restrictions to the thermal bypass hose connection (3)
- Damage, blockage, or excessive corrosion to the engine coolant passages
- Damage or restrictions to any fastener threads
- Damage or restrictions to any mounting holes
- Inspect the rear of the coolant crossover pipe for the following:
- Damage to the heater inlet/outlet sealing surface (1)
- Damage to the coolant crossover pipe-to-cylinder head sealing surfaces (2)
- Damage, blockage, or excessive corrosion to the engine coolant passages
- Damage or restrictions to any fastener threads
- Damage or restrictions to any mounting holes
- Repair or replace the coolant crossover pipe as necessary.
