Preliminary Procedure: Remove the carpet retainer. Refer to Front Side Door Opening Floor Carpet Retainer Replacement (Impala) .
1	Hood Release Handle Screw CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 10 N.m (89 lb in)
2	Hood Release Handle Nut Tighten: 10 N.m (89 lb in)
3	Hood Release Handle Tip: Disconnect the cable from the handle.
