Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine front cover. Refer to Engine Front Cover Replacement (6.2L and 7.0L) or Engine Front Cover Replacement (Except 6.2L (LS9) and 7.0L) .
  2. Remove the engine oil pan. Refer to Oil Pan Replacement (w/o LS9) .
  3. Fig 1: Crankshaft Oil Deflector & Nuts

  4. Remove the crankshaft oil deflector nuts (403).
  5. Remove the crankshaft oil deflector (425).

  7. Remove the oil pump bolts.
  8. NOTE: Do not allow dirt or debris to enter the oil pump assembly. Cap ends, as necessary.
  9. Remove the oil pump (413).
  10. Clean and inspect the oil pump. Refer to Oil Pump Cleaning and Inspection (6.2L LS3) or Oil Pump Cleaning and Inspection (LS3 with Z52 Option, LS7) or Oil Pump Cleaning and Inspection (6.2L LS9) .
