Oil Pump Assemble (6.2L LS9)

    NOTE: Prior to assembling the oil pump, coat all wear or internal surfaces with clean engine oil.
  1. Install the primary pump driven gear (412) and drive gear (410) into the primary pump housing (413).
  2. Assemble the secondary pump housing (456) to the primary pump housing (413).
  3. Install the secondary pump driven gear (412) and drive gear (410) into the secondary pump housing (456).
  4. Install the oil pump cover (409).
    5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  5. Install the pump cover bolts (408) and tighten to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  6. Install the relief valve (414).
  7. Install the relief valve spring (415).
  8. Install the relief valve plug (416) and tighten to 14 N.m (124 lb in).
  9. Inspect the oil pump for smooth operation by rotating the drive gears.
