Valve Rocker Arm Cover Removal - Right Side (6.2L LS9)

    NOTE: Do not remove the oil cap from the cover, unless service is required. If the oil cap has been removed from the cover, the locking features of the cap will be damaged and no longer functional.
    If the cap has been removed, install a NEW cap during assembly.
  1. Remove the spark plug wires (3), as required.
  2. Remove the ignition coil bolts (1) and ignition coils (2).

  3. Remove the valve rocker arm cover bolts (516) and cover (505).
  4. Remove and discard the valve rocker arm cover gasket, valve rocker arm cover grommets and valve rocker arm cover bolts if they are serviced with the grommet.

  5. Remove the gasket (504) from the cover.

  6. Remove the oil cap (424) and seal (450) from the cover, as required.
