Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2012 GMC Yukon XL, 2012 GMC Yukon, 2012 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2012 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2012 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition ON, verify that DTC U1826, C0186, C0196 or C0292 is not set.
  2. Inspect the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor for correct installation.
    • If loose or incorrect installation is diagnosed, correct the installation of the component.
  3. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor.
  4. Ignition OFF and all vehicle systems OFF. It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 6 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified value, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  5. Ignition ON, test for greater than 11 V between the 12 V reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than the specified value, test the 12 V reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the EBCM.
  6. If all circuits test normal, replace the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor and verify the DTC does not reset.
    • If the DTC resets, replace the EBCM.
