Suspension Strut and Shock Absorber Testing - On Vehicle

2	Verify that the customer's concern is present. Does the vehicle operate normally?	System OK	Go to Step 3
3	Use your hands in order to lift up and push down each corner of the vehicle 3 times. Remove your hands from the vehicle. Locate a shock or strut that exceeds 2 undulations. Did you locate a shock or strut that exceeds 2 undulations?	Go to Step 5	Go to Step 4
4	IMPORTANT: A strut does not require replacement if any or a combination of the following are present: A build up of oil up to 11 mm wide at the end of the piston rod. Oily sludge accumulated from normal operating conditions to 4 cm from the top of the strut body. Road grease, oil, sand and dust discoloration on the body. Inspect each strut for external fluid leakage.Is a strut leaking?	Go to Step 5	Go to Strategy Based Diagnosis
5	Replace the strut unit or shock absorber. Refer to the appropriate procedure: Strut, Strut Component, or Spring Replacement for Front. Shock Absorber Replacement for Rear. Did you complete the repair?	Go to Step 6	-
6	Operate the vehicle in order to verify the repair. Did you correct the condition?	System OK	Go to Step 3
