Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the S27 Head-Up Display Switch.
  2. Test for less than 30 Ω between the low reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the P29 Head-Up Display.
  3. Ignition ON, connect the J-33431-C:  instrument panel tester or a similar variable resistance tool and dial in the following resistance values while observing the corresponding scan tool parameter change from Inactive to Active:
    • 604 Ω - Page Switch parameter
    • 1624 Ω - Adjust Display Up Switch parameter
    • 3534 Ω - Adjust Display Down Switch parameter
    • If any of the parameters do not change from Inactive to Active, test the signal circuit terminal 6 for a short to voltage, open/high resistance, or a short to ground. If all circuits test normal, replace the P29 head-up display module.
  4. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the S27 head-up display switch.
