Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the drain plug and gasket, then tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

  3. Remove the fill plug and gasket from the rear differential housing.
  4. Fill the rear differential with the proper synthetic gear lubricant. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers .
  5. Inspect the gear oil level to ensure it is even with the bottom of the fill plug.
  6. Install the fill plug and gasket in the rear differential housing and tighten to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
  7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
