Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 GMC Acadia, 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2016 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

B1825 01 or B1825 06

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the seat recline position sensor.
  2. Test for less than 5 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  3. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  4. Verify the scan tool Driver Seat Back Position parameter is less than 1 volt.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  5. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 2 and the 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1. Verify the scan tool Driver Seat Back Position parameter is greater than 4.75 volts.
    • If less than the specified value, test the signal circuit for short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the seat recline position sensor.

B2355 01, B2355 06, B2365 01, B2365 06, B2375 01 or B2375 06

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate seat position sensor.
  2. Test for less than 5 ohms between the low reference circuit terminal 3 and ground.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the low reference circuit for an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  3. Ignition ON, test for 4.8-5.2 volts between the 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1 and ground.
    • If less than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
    • If greater than the specified range, test the 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  4. Verify the appropriate scan tool driver seat sensor parameter listed below is less than 1 volt.
    • Driver Seat Cushion Front Vertical Position
    • Driver Seat Cushion Rear Vertical Position
    • Driver Seat Horizontal Position
    • If greater than the specified range, test the signal circuit terminal 2 for a short to voltage. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  5. Install a 3A fused jumper wire between the signal circuit terminal 2 and the 5-volt reference circuit terminal 1. Verify the appropriate scan tool driver seat sensor parameter listed below is greater than 4.75 volts.
    • Driver Seat Cushion Front Vertical Position
    • Driver Seat Cushion Rear Vertical Position
    • Driver Seat Horizontal Position
    • If less than the specified range, test the signal circuit for short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the MSM.
  6. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate seat position sensor.
