Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door, remove the access plug located in the upper inner door.
  2. Insert a TORX #25 driver through the access hole to loosen the screw, Do not remove the screw (1) retaining the lock cylinder cap (2).

    NOTE:

    Prior to removing the door outside handle, pull the outside handle part way open in order to see the bell crank lever. The bell crank lever is spring loaded to keep the handle closed.

  4. Insert an appropriate hook tool (2) through the handle (3) opening to hold the bell crank lever (1) fixed with the handle in 'partial open' position.

    NOTE:

    Use care not to break the bell crank when removing it from the handle housing.

  6. With the bell crank (1) in the partial open position, push the handle closed to relieve the spring pressure and push the handle (2) rearward to clear the bell crank lever (1).

  8. Pull the outside door handle (1) rearward to release the outside door handle from the handle housing.
