Component Testing

Seat Heating and Cooling Switch
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connector at the appropriate S31 Seat Heating and Cooling Switch.
- Test for infinite resistance between each signal terminal listed below and the ground circuit terminal 7 with the switch in the open position:
- Cooled seat switch signal terminal 5
- Heated seat switch signal terminal 4
- If not the specified value, replace the S31 Seat Heating and Cooling Switch.
- Test for less than 2 Ω between each signal circuit terminal listed below and the ground circuit terminal 7 with the appropriate switch in the closed position:
- Cooled seat switch signal terminal 5
- Heated seat switch signal terminal 4
- If greater than the specified range, replace the S31 Seat Heating and Cooling Switch.
- Connect a 3 A fused jumper wire between the ground circuit terminal 7 and ground.
- Connect a test lamp between B+ and each control circuit terminal listed below, one at a time. The appropriate indicator should illuminate.
- Seat heat mode indicator terminal 1
- Low indicator terminal 6
- Medium indicator terminal 8
- Seat cool mode indicator terminal 9
- High indicator terminal 10
- If any indicator does not illuminate, replace the S31 Seat Heating and Cooling Switch.
