Liftgate Weatherstrip Replacement (Acadia, Enclave, Traverse)

Preliminary Procedure 
Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod from the liftgate only, if equipped. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement

Procedure

  1. Clean the area where the seal will be mounted. Use a suitable solvent with a mixture of 50 percent isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent water by volume, or high-flash naphtha.
  2. Start at the upper corner of the rear compartment opening and pull the weatherstrip away from the rear compartment opening flange.
  3. Position the weatherstrip to the upper corner of the rear compartment opening flange.
  4. Working downward along the flange, install the weatherstrip to the rear compartment opening flange ensuring that the weatherstrip is fully seated in the corners, using a rubber mallet.
