Steering Column Tilt Wheel Position Sensor Replacement

Preliminary Procedure 
Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement .
1 Steering Column Tilt Wheel Position Sensor Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
0.5 N.m (4 lb in)
2 Steering Column Tilt Wheel Position Sensor
CAUTION:

Cover any openings on the steering column while servicing the motor. Do not allow anything to drop into the openings on the steering column. Objects or contaminants in the openings on the steering column could damage the steering column. This damage could impair the collapsible design of the steering column.

Procedure

  1. Disconnect any electrical connectors as necessary.
  2. If necessary, reposition the steering column tilt wheel actuator motor.
  3. If necessary, reposition the steering column telescope actuator motor.
  4. During the installation, align the position sensor arms with both actuator motors.
  5. After the installation is complete, perform the telescoping steering column calibration. Refer to Telescoping Steering Column Calibration .

TIP:  The connectors on the harness are for a single use only. If you disconnect either connector or both connectors, replace the harness.
