Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 GMC Acadia, 2016 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2016 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The transmission control module (TCM) continuously monitors the voltage on the Ignition Accessory/Run circuit from the body control module (BCM). When the ignition is in the Accessory or Run position, the BCM sends a 12 V wake up signal to the TCM. This wake up signal allows the TCM to power up and start functioning before the engine is started.
