Master Cylinder Reservoir Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Using a suitable tool, remove the brake fluid from the brake master cylinder reservoir.
  2. Discard the brake fluid into an approved container.
  3. Remove the air cleaner cover and outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement .
1 Master Cylinder Fluid Level Sensor Electrical Connector
Procedure 
Disconnect the electrical connector.
2 Master Cylinder Reservoir
Procedure 
Carefully spread the 4 locking tabs and lift the master cylinder reservoir upward.
3 Master Cylinder Reservoir Seals (Qty: 2)

Procedure

  1. Lubricate the seals and the outer surface area of the reservoir-to-housing barrels with GM approved brake fluid from a clean, sealed brake fluid container.
  2. Place the new lubricated seals on the reservoir-to-housing barrels before installing the reservoir to the master cylinder housing.
  3. Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling .
