Front Brake Hose Replacement

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .
1 Brake Pipe Fitting
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

  1. Remove any dirt or debris from the brake pipe fitting.
  2. Use a backup wrench on the brake hose fitting when disconnecting and connecting the brake pipe fitting.
  3. Cap the brake pipe fitting to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Tighten 
17 N.m (13 lb ft)
2 Brake Hose Bracket Bolt
Tighten 
9 N.m (80 lb in)
3 Brake Hose Fitting Bolt
Tighten 
40 N.m (30 lb ft)
4 Brake Hose Fitting Gasket (Qty: 2)

Procedure

  1. Discard the brake hose fitting gaskets.
  2. Install 2 new brake hose fitting gaskets.
5 Brake Hose
Procedure 
Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Manual) Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding (Pressure) .
