Trim Removal/Installation - Hatch Areas

Special Tools Required

KTC Trim Tool Set SOJATP2014*

*Available through the Honda Tool and Equipment Program, 888-424-6857

NOTE:

Put on gloves to protect your hands.
Take care not to bend or scratch the trim and panels.
Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components.
When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

Remove the hatch middle trim (A).
1. Detach the hooks (B) from the left hatch side trim (C) and the right hatch side trim (D).
2. Pull the hatch middle trim back by hand to detach the clips, then remove it.

Pull the hatch side trim (A) back by hand to detach the clips (B, C) and the hook (D), then remove the hatch side trim both sides.

Apply protective tape to the hatch lower trim panel along the top of the pull pocket.
Insert a flat-tip screwdriver (A) into the slit (B), insert the other flat-tip screwdriver (C) at the marks (D) and detach the hooks (E) while prying the pull pocket out at the same time. Remove the pull pocket (F).

Remove the hatch latch cover.
Pull the hatch lower trim panel (A) back by hand, and detach the clips (B, C), then remove it.

Install the trim in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:
- If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.
- Push the clips into place securely.
