Side Curtain Airbag Replacement: Removal

NOTE:

If you are replacing the side curtain airbag after deployment, refer to Component/Inspection After Deployment (see COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/INSPECTION AFTER DEPLOYMENT ) for a complete list of other parts that must also be replaced.
Review the interior trim replacement procedure before doing repair or service (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ).
Removal of the side curtain airbag must be done according to Precautions and Procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ).

Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
Remove the C-pillar trim panel and the cargo side trim panel (see C-PILLAR TRIM ).
Disconnect the wire harness 2P connector (A) from the side curtain airbag.

Remove the headliner (see HEADLINER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
Remove the side airbag mounting bolts (A) and the mounting bolts (B) from the bracket. Detach the clip (C) and the hooks (D), then remove the side curtain airbag (E).
