Side Airbag Replacement: Removal

  1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
  2. Remove the front seat assembly (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Pull out the seat-back cover/pad as needed (see FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER REPLACEMENT ).
  4. Detach the clips (A) and wire ties (B) of side airbag harness from the seat cushion frame.

  5. Unzip the seat-cover from behind the seat-back (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  6. Pull back the seat-back cover, then release the hook strips from the seat-back frame.
  7. Pull out the seat-back cover/pad as needed.
  8. Release the airbag attachment wire (A) from seat-back frame (B).

  9. Remove the mounting nut (C) and the side airbag (D).
