Rear Safing Sensor Replacement: Removal

  1. Do the 12 volt battery terminal disconnection procedure (see 12 VOLT BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION ), then wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion (see REAR SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Pull out the carpet as needed.
  4. Remove the two bolts (A) and the rear safing sensor cover (B).

  5. Disconnect the floor wire harness 2P connector (C) from the rear safing sensor (D). using a TORX T30 bit, remove the TORX bolt (E), then remove the rear safing sensor.
