Planetary Carrier Clearance Inspection

Measure the clearance between the 25 x 31 mm thrust shim (A) and the snap ring (B) using a feeler gauge (C), in at least three places. Use the average as the actual clearance.
Standard: 0.050-0.115 mm (0.0020-0.0045 in)

If the clearance is out of standard, remove the 25x31 mm thrust shim (A) and measure its thickness.

Select a new 25 x 31 mm thrust shim from the following table and install it, then recheck that the clearance is within the standard.

Check that the snap ring outside diameter is 30.7 mm (1.21 in) or less.
