Wheel Stud Replacement

J 43631 Ball Joint Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the tire and the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (Service and Repair).





Note: Do not hammer on a wheel stud.

4. Remove the wheel stud bolt using J 43631 .

Installation Procedure

1. Install the wheel stud to the wheel hub and bearing.





Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install 4 washers and the nut to the wheel stud and tighten the nut to 140 Nm (103 lb ft) , drawing in the wheel stud.
3. Remove the nut and the washers.
4. Install the rotor. Refer to Front Brake Rotor Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Install the tire and the wheel. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Service and Repair).
6. Lower the vehicle.
