Preliminary Procedures Disable the roof rail SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the rear opening garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement . Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod as required. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) .
1	Body Rear Corner Upper Garnish Molding Cover Tip: Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

Remove the rear opening garnish molding. Refer to Rear Door Upper Garnish Molding Replacement .
Disconnect the liftgate actuator rod as required. Refer to Liftgate Actuator Rod Replacement (Except Avalanche and EXT Escalade) .

Tip: Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
