Installation Procedure

  1. Install the spring.
  2. Install the piston assembly.
  3. Install the O-ring.
  4. Install the servo cover.
  5. CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .
  6. Install the servo cover bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (106 lb in).

  7. Remove the drain pan from under the forward servo cover.
  8. Adjust the jackstand in order to raise the rear of the frame.
  9. Install the frame bolts. Refer to Frame Replacement .
  10. Remove the support from the rear of the frame.
  11. Install the power steering lines to the right side of the frame.
  12. Install the engine mount lower nuts. Refer to the following:
  13. Install the transaxle mount lower nuts. Refer to Transmission Mount Replacement - Left Side .
  14. Install the power steering gear. Refer to Steering Gear Replacement .
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Remove the engine support fixture.
  17. NOTE: It is recommended that the transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset. Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the ECM, PCM or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.
  18. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions .
  19. CAUTION: Do not overfill the transmission. Overfilling will result in foaming, loss of fluid, and possible damage to the transmission.
  20. Check and fill the transaxle as necessary.
